The aim of this one day meeting is to provide a clinical update for doctors
working within older persons mental health service. By the end of the meeting
participants will be familiar with:
 The pharmacological and current controversies in the treatment of
dementia
 The overlap between Learning Disabilities and Old Age Psychiatry
 Capacity Issues
 Other developments in relation to the care and treatment of older
people
Consultants Psychiatrists, Specialist Registrars and Staff Grade and other doctors who
want to become familiar with the recent advances and current guidelines in the treatment
of dementia and common psychiatric conditions that affect the elderly.

In accordance with Royal College of Psychiatry CPD guidelines, this event will
count as 5 hours of external CPD time, subject to peer group approval.
Venue: New Place Management Centre, High Street, Shirrell Heath, near
Southampton.
Fees: £120 (includes presentations handouts or CD where provided, lunch and
refreshments and car parking). Certificates of attendance will be available.

Fees Delegate fees £120. Fees include copy of presentations (handouts / CD) where
provided, lunch and refreshments and car parking. Certificate of attendance will be
available.
Cheques should be made payable to Hampshire Partnership NHS Trust. When
payment is by invoice to an employer an order number or reference must be provided.
Cancellations: Cancellations must be made in writing and received by the CPDMH 10
days prior to the date of the event (postmarked). A handling charge of £30.00 will be
applied to all cancellations, although delegates maybe substituted at any time. No refunds
can be offered 10 days prior to the event.
Booking confirmations, travel directions and any additional information will be
sent out approx. 3 weeks in advance of the event, usually by electronic mail.
