Thanksgiving Point to Open New Blockbuster Exhibit July 1 Visitors of “Notion of Motion” will discover fun with the physics of movement LEHI, Utah (June XX, 2011) – Thanksgiving Point’s Museum of Ancient Life will open a new interactive science exhibit, “Notion of Motion,” on Friday, July 1. The exhibit will feature a variety of fun, hands-on activities relating to the principle of motion through June 2012 as part of Thanksgiving Point exclusive five-year agreement with the Exploratorium Network (ExNET), a prestigious national partnership that provides traveling hands-on exhibits to engage children and adults in the areas of science, art and human perception. Notions of Motion is inspired by the scientific findings of Newton and Galileo. Visitors will be given the opportunity to perform experiments such as floating magnets in mid-air, swaying pendulums in mysterious patterns and creating clouds from fog. Exploratorium exhibits are hands-on educational displays, intended for people of all ages. The partnership between Thanksgiving Point and Exploratorium includes a mixture of shared exhibits, periodic presentations from visiting Exploratorium professional educators and scientists and collaboration with the 13 other ExNET museums and universities nationwide to share ideas for creative education and research and development of interactive exhibits. There is no additional fee for the “Notion of Motion” exhibit as its part of the regular Museum of Ancient Life admission fee of $10 for adults, $8 for children and free for Thanksgiving Point members.
