The department of psychiatry at the University Hospital in

Ålborg

offers five vacancies in different fields of psychiatry: affective and psychotic disorders, intensive psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. The vacancies are in the clinic located in

Brønderslev.

There is a close collaboration with the social services of the municipalities and the work is organized in multidisciplinary teams with psychologist, nurse, therapists and social workers. There will be opportunities for participation in relevant courses and conferences and for professional development. There are possibilities to combine clinical work with research and teaching.

The offer:

 Permanent contract as a psychiatrist.

 Help to find: apartment, school and kindergarten.

 Study tour to Denmark, after a first interview, to learn more about the region and the work

 environment.

Assistance with removal and relocation costs.

Salary between € 83.000 and € 90.000 gross per year as a staff specialist depending on qualifications and functions.

37 hour working week.

Six weeks paid holiday and additional 17% pension benefits.

Intensive Danish course, also for the partner.

A scholarship for the Danish course of 700 Euros monthly net, a supplement for children of

70 Euro monthly net, free apartment and travel costs for the family.

Requirements :

Specialist title in psychiatry.

 Relevant clinical experience.

 Good English level.

 Be able to complete the Danish intensive course

Elderly psychiatry

In North Jutland, in psychiatry almost all the examination and treatment of elderly people with mental illness are divided into two units where staff have particular expertise in the field:

Outpatient Clinic for elderly patients

Outpatient clinic targeted at older people who have a mental illness or dementia - often in combination with other diseases. Most often done contacted by the staff to go out to the patients. Outpatient Clinic for Anxiety and Personality Psychiatry. (Patients with different types of personality disorders and patients with different anxiety disorders like OCD, phobias etc. The patients referred need a long-term, specialized treatment, which they quite often encounter in conversation and therapy.)

Ward 1 (Patients admitted to this ward, are especially younger people with psychotic symptoms and conditions)

Ward 2 (Patients admitted to Ward 2, may have various mental illnesses such as depression and mania. Other patients have a personality disorder, a stress reaction (stress, etc.) or a disease with anxiety.)

Ward 3 (Patients admitted to Ward 3 have different psychiatric disorders with psychotic symptoms and conditions. It can be schizophrenia - but also due to other diseases)
