The department of psychiatry at the University Hospital in
Ålborg
offers five vacancies in different fields of psychiatry: affective and psychotic disorders, intensive psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. The vacancies are in the clinic located in
Brønderslev.
There is a close collaboration with the social services of the municipalities and the work is organized in multidisciplinary teams with psychologist, nurse, therapists and social workers. There will be opportunities for participation in relevant courses and conferences and for professional development. There are possibilities to combine clinical work with research and teaching.
The offer:
 Permanent contract as a psychiatrist.

Salary between € 83.000 and € 90.000 gross per year as a staff specialist depending on qualifications and functions.




37 hour working week.

A scholarship for the Danish course of 700 Euros monthly net, a supplement for children of


Requirements :
Specialist title in psychiatry.

Elderly psychiatry
In North Jutland, in psychiatry almost all the examination and treatment of elderly people with mental illness are divided into two units where staff have particular expertise in the field:
Outpatient Clinic for elderly patients
Outpatient clinic targeted at older people who have a mental illness or dementia - often in combination with other diseases. Most often done contacted by the staff to go out to the patients. Patients may also be asked to come in for such an investigation or inspection in older outpatient clinic - or any of Psychiatry other outpatient clinics.
Bed Ward , A special section for senior citizens with various mental illnesses. Many of the patients have dementia with psychiatric complications (e.g. hallucinations or delusions).
Many patients are examined and treated in their own homes, where they receive a visit from a nurse or a doctor from the clinic.
Patients can also be hospitalized acute in the elderly psychiatric ward.
If need of urgent hospitalization they use an intensive ward of a psychiatric hospital in either Aalborg or
Broenderslev.
Other clinics at Broenderslev Psychiatric Hospital

Outpatient Clinic for Anxiety and Personality Psychiatry. (Patients with different types of personality disorders and patients with different anxiety disorders like OCD, phobias etc. The patients referred need a long-term, specialized treatment, which they quite often encounter in conversation and therapy.)

Outpatient Clinic for mental patients (Outpatient clinic audience is mentally disabled citizens who also have a mental illness - and live in a specialized residential facilities with day coverage.)

Intensive ward (Patients admitted in this ward have different mental illnesses, often schizophrenia or other disorders with psychosis. Some of the patients also have a treatment sentence and / or an abuse, leading to complications. Patients are adults over 18 years.)

Intensive ward (On the Intensive Ward (closed section) hospitalized patients acute because of a marked deterioration of their mental illness. Patients have various diseases like depression, mania, personality disorders and schizophrenia. Some of them also have a sentence for treatment or another legal measure)

Ward 1 (Patients admitted to this ward, are especially younger people with psychotic symptoms and conditions)

Ward 2 (Patients admitted to Ward 2, may have various mental illnesses such as depression and mania. Other patients have a personality disorder, a stress reaction (stress, etc.) or a disease with anxiety.)

Ward 3 (Patients admitted to Ward 3 have different psychiatric disorders with psychotic symptoms and conditions. It can be schizophrenia - but also due to other diseases)
