Helping children, adolescents and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders reach their full potential by providing clinical programs, community education and family support. “…because the creatively wired and socially challenged should not have to go it alone.” PRESS RELEASE Colleen Burns, Program Development Assistant colleen.burns@focuscenterforautism.org FOCUS Center for Autism Celebrates at Annual Dinner On Friday, April 26th, FOCUS Center for Autism held their well-attended “Celebrate FOCUS” dinner. This semi-formal event celebrated the accomplishments FOCUS made over the past year, and raised much-needed funds for FOCUS’s programming. During the evening, attendees were treated to an entertaining and touching speech by Mrs. Leslie Burby; editor of Autism Parenting Magazine, author of “Emotional Mastery for Adults with Aspergers”, and mother to three children. Burby chronicled her journey from owning a tutoring service to her successful endeavors in the world of Autism; citing her eldest daughter Grace, who has Aspergers Syndrome, as her biggest inspiration.
