Dear Mealoha
Thank you for organizing your group to volunteer in the park! This letter is to confirm your volunteer project
on Saturday, May 22nd from 9am-12pm on Park Presidio Boulevard. The meeting place is the 500 block
of Funston at Balboa.. Please review the confirmation email with the outline of the day. If your group needs to
cancel, please contact the Volunteer Office. This enables our staff to plan accordingly. Please note, the event
takes place rain or shine, barring high winds.
Before arriving, please review the Volunteer Guidelines, which will assist you in preparing your group.
(Please advise participants not to wear fragrances or bright colors which can attract stinging insects. If it is bee
season anyone allergic to bees should take precautions.) In addition, you should ask participants to bring:









Old clothes—inevitably you will be getting dirty
Layer of clothes—long pants and long sleeved shirt
Sturdy, closed-toed boots with good tread
Raingear (We have a limited supply of raingear for wet weather.)
Sun block
Sun hat
Water
Snack
Gloves—if you have them, otherwise we will supply
The RPD will provide all the necessary tools. Please instruct the group to arrive promptly so everyone
can receive instructions on the work scope and be informed of safety concerns.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. The
Department and the entire community will benefit tremendously from the time and effort your group donates to
the restoration and beautification of the parks. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the
