Aims

This course aims to teach the students, pathophysiology of diseases, clinical features, diagnosis, tests and evaluation that are helpful to diagnosis of diseases related to urogenital system, male and female genital system.

Course Contents

 Female genital sistem; endocrinology and physiology, pathophysology of genital organ disease benign and malignant diseases and their pathological features

 Female genital sistem; Pathology of Endometrial hyprplasia and drug therapy

 Pregnancy; the physiology of the reproductive functions and pregnancy, pathophysiologic changes pregnancy

Oral contraceptives and induced endometrial changes

 Vagen , vulva and cerviks disease and tumors

Non-neoplastic functional ovarian cysts

 Ovarian benign and malign tumors

 Pathology of urinary system diseases: Structural charasteristics of kidney, pathogenesis of glomerular diseases (primary, secondary), pathogenesis and pathology of acute renal failure, pathology in congenital malformations, pathology in obstructions and tubulointerstitiel diseases

 Cystic disease of the kidney

 Clinical manifestations histologic alterations pathogenesis of glomerular injury

Diseases affecting tubules and interstitium

 Disease of blood vessels of the kidney

Pathology of urinary system tumors, pathology of prostatic diseases, pathology of testicular and epididymal diseases, pathology of penil diseases.

 İnflamations and tumors of urinary bladder

 Pharmacology related to urinary system: drugs affecting acid-base balance, diuretics, drugs in the treatment of urinary infections.

 Biochemistry related to urinary system: Nonproteic nitrogene compounds and

 biochemical diagnosis in main renal diseases, tests to evaluate renal functions, urinalysis and interpretation, biochemical diagnosis in prostatic diseases.

Clinical microbiology related to urinary system: Flora of genitourinary tract, defence mechanisms and predisposing factors to infections, organisms causing urinary tract

 infections and microbiological diagnosis,

Urinary system diseases in children: Functions related to renal structural characteristics, role of kidneys in the regulation of extracellular fluid volume and osmolarity, maesurement and evaluation of blood pressure in children, syndromes suggesting renal diseases, symptoms and mechanisms of nephritic syndrome, symptoms and mechanisms of acute renal failure, embryologic malformations and clinical signs, physiology of micturation and developmental disorders, pathogenesis and clinical features of urinary tract infections, diet and treatment in renal failure, renal replacement therapy.

 Internal medicine in urinary system diseases: physiopathology of hypervolemiaoedema, asid-base balance/disbalance, potassium metabolism and disorders, calciumphosphorus metabolism and disorders, symptom and mechanisms of nephritic

 syndrome, chronic renal failure, relations between blood pressure and kidney, physiopathology of hypertension, incidence and causes of hypertension.

Urologic disorders: symptomatology in urology, vesicoureteral reflux, nonspecific infections of urinary tract, uroepitelial tumors, renal tumors, diseases transmitting sexual intercourse, prostate cancer, benign prostate hyperplasia, testis tumors, voiding dysfunction and urodinamy, defects causing intrascrotal mass,, stone disease of urogenital system.

 Neurologic disorders of urinary system: neurologic voiding disorders, impotance.
