Their tails are about the same size as their bodies. Their claws are semi-rectangular. They appear cat-like, except for their longer faces. Their fur usually has a dark spotted marbling pattern over a cream to buff colored back rounds. Their fur is really soft. They are really flexible and can enter very small, tight places. Habitat The Common Genet lives in the Mediterranean region. The genet prefers dryer areas with forests because they are really good climbers. Location and region The Common Genet is native to Northern Africa and has spread into Europe. Diet The Common Genet is a carnivore. It likes to eat small animals such as rats/mice, insects, small reptiles and birds. Structural/behavioral Adaptations Genets are nocturnal. They only rarely appear during the day. They are stealth hunters. Their claws pin down prey and able to climb.
