Project Engineer – Lead civil design engineer. Responsible for floodwall alignment, floodgate type/location/size, utility and facility relocations, and drainage design. Responsible for preliminary structural design of T-wall section Used InRoads to design floodwall geometry. Designed drainage network using rational method. Pearl River Two Lakes at Ross Barnett Reservoir Jackson Mississippi, USACE Vicksburg District. Converted existing Hec-RAS model to U-NET model of Pearl River near Jackson, MS. Modeled two crested weir dams to determine water surface elevation. Brown, Cunningham, and Gannuch/ILSI Program Management July 1996-May 2000 Southeast Louisiana Flood Control Project for Sewerage & Water Board of N.O Project Engineer - Primary responsibilities assisting Project managers in coordinating engineering consultants to design major flood control structures in the city of New Orleans. Technical responsibilities included hydrologic and hydraulic urban watershed analysis and design. Identified flood prone areas; used hydrologic/hydraulic software (XP-SWMM, HecRas, Unet, and Feswm) to model historic and synthetic rainfall events. Design hydraulic components to reduce flooding. Developed benefit/cost ratio to determine project feasibility and made recommendation to Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans and Corps of Engineers. Program management duties included review of A/E design consultant contract drawings and specifications. Provided A/E design consultant with detailed structural design of complicated intersection of box culverts and structural design of steel gate and a-frame assembly. East Lakeview Sewer Rehabilitation Project Project Engineer - Reviewed and identified all defects to sewer line using closed circuit television videocassette. Determined the severity of defect and listed major defects for further review. Final recommendation of repair or replacement was based on my review and analysis of pipe segment video. Prepared repair and replacement construction documents (plan drawings) using AutoCAD. Other tasks included field inspections to determine surface conditions or other problems. C&S Consulting Engineers August 1995-July 1996 Water Pre-Treatment Facility for Sewerage & Board of New Orleans Designed grading of paving for access roadway, underground piping for water lines, and drainage system for plant facilities. Designed sludge force main layout. Supervised CAD operators and prepared specifications. Master Drainage Plan for City of Slidell Community Target Area Prepared master drainage plan for drainage improvements involving preparation of plans/profiles and computing runoffs of drainage areas for replacement of concrete box culverts and widening of canals. The first phase of the Master Plan required replacement of culverts under a major street to relieve flooding in the target area. Prepared plan/profile of culvert street crossing, which included plans on timber bulkhead, roadway replacement and xsecs. Provided engineering administration during construction, including review of submittals, etc. Prepared specifications and supervised CAD operators.
