Part 3 – Script







Your script should break down who says what. Remember that you have 4 parts (Meteorologist, Safety
Expert, Survivor, and Reporter).
Each member is required to participate, which means everyone must speak.
Be sure to include all of the information you collected during your research.
o A story of survival from the survivor
o A news report of the event from the reporter
o A weather forecast/update from the meteorologist WITH a visual presentation of the report
(Remember that weather map you had to do during your research? That would be a good place
to start )
o Safety recommendations from the safety expert
You do not have to memorize your lines – you are allowed to use your script during your presentation
or filming of your video.
Be creative (but appropriate) with your script. We want to be entertained as well as educated!
Your script should be typed. Each member should have a copy of the final script.
You will need to turn in 1 copy of your script for a grade.
Part 4 – Final Presentation/Video


Due: __December 17____
Due: __December 18___
Your presentation should be well-rehearsed (even if you don’t have to have the lines memorized.
Assume your group will present on the first day of presentations. Be prepared for that day, as you will
not be granted an extension. Absences of group members on the day of presentation will be dealt
with on an individual basis.
Each presentation should last 8-10 minutes. Presentations can be done live in front of the class, or
groups may submit a video.
Videos should be sent to me on or before the date on which your script is due.
Videos can be uploaded to YouTube.com, emailed to me, burned on to a DVD, or saved on a flash drive
and brought. ** Please be sure to bring your video media early so that I can make sure it will play
properly.
If you upload your video to YouTube, please be sure you know what it is saved as and that you can
access it.
Late Presentations: If your group is not ready to present the day you are called to do so, you may
present the next day with a late point penalty. If you were planning on a video that I have not
received, your only other option is to present live to the class.
Part 5 – Evaluation



Each group member will complete a Group Evaluation.
Each group will receive a Teacher Evaluation based on their research, script, and presentation.
Your individual score will be calculated based on the Group Evaluations and Teacher Evaluation.
