Updated January 2016 1 English Language requirement Delays can be encountered when an applicant needs to take a Secure English Language Test (SELT) to meet the English Language requirement. By doing so, the employing department/ college is certifying that they will, if necessary, maintain and accommodate the applicant (to a minimum value of £945) and their dependants (to a minimum value of £630 each) for the first month of employment.
