Dear Parents,
Below is some information for the start of the 2015– 2016 school year:
THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL for students in grade 1 and 2 is Monday, August 24th, First day of school for
Kindergarten students is Tuesday, August 25th.
BUILDING TOURS FOR NEW STUDENTS in Grades 1 and 2 will be on Wednesday, August 19th at 10:00 a.m.
Call Mrs. Pierce, at (330) 856-8280, if you have any questions about the tours.
KINDERGARTEN PARENT MEETINGS will be held on Monday, August 24th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
A letter will be sent in mid-August stating the times and to remind parents of the meeting. The letter will also
indicate whether the child will attend kindergarten in the morning or the afternoon.
CLASS LISTS will be posted on the front doors on Friday, August 21st at 4:00 p.m.
FIRST DAY PROCEDURES: All students are escorted off the buses and taken to the gym. They will meet their
teachers and be divided into classes in the gym.
LUNCHES: Our cafeteria will be operating on the first day for those students who wish to buy lunch.
STUDENT HOURS:
Grades 1 and 2:
Kindergarten Hours:
9:10 a.m. – 3:35 p.m. with the tardy bell at 9:15 a.m.
AM Kindergarten – 9:10 a.m.-11:45 a.m., tardy bell at 9:15 a.m.
PM Kindergarten – 1:00 p.m.-3:35 p.m., tardy bell at 1:05 p.m.
Any child being picked up after school must bring a note to school letting the teacher and office know your wishes.
All children being picked up must be signed out in the office.
General supply lists for students are listed below:

 1 bottle of Elmer’s white glue (approx. 8oz)
 2 highlighters
 1 box of Crayola 24 count crayons
 1 2-pocket folder with clamps
 4 glue sticks
 2 containers of baby wipes
 1- ½ inch binder labeled with your child’s name
 AM students only – 1 pack of yellow #2 pencils, a box of gallon-sized 1 zip bags
 PM students only – 2 packs of 8 count Crayola washable markers and 1 pack dry erase
markers
 Please donate AA batteries for our game center!
Your child needs to bring a book bag to school each day.
Please create an “at home” supply box for your child to use on homework. It should include
pencils, crayons, scissors, and glue. Keep this supply box at home.
First Grade Parents,
This is a list of materials needed in all first grade rooms. Additional items may be requested
by individual teachers during the year.



FIRST GRADE GENERAL SUPPLIES (These will be community supplies)

4 boxes of Crayons (24 count or less)
Scissors (preferably Fiskars) – please label these
5 white school glue and 10 glue sticks (no colored glue please)
1 box sandwich size zip-lock bags
1 box gallon size zip-lock bags
2 boxes of 24 pencils with erasers (Yellow No. 2 pencils)
2 - 3 oz. cans of Play-Dough
2 large boxes of tissues
2 large boxes of baby wipes
Pack of 6 or more low-odor dry erase markers (Please no Crayola dry erase)
1 pack of washable markers (8 count)
1 sock for erasing
Book Bag (Back Pack)
1” – 3 ring binder (label with name)
1 - 3 prong folder (red)
1 pocket folder for desk (label with name)
2 large pink erasers
***The teacher will store all extra supplies until your child needs them.***
Second Grade Parents,
This is a list of materials needed in all second grade rooms. Additional items may be
requested by individual teachers during the year.

SECOND GRADE GENERAL SUPPLIES
Large nylon supply bag with zipper
Box of No. 2 sharpened pencils-please no mechanical pencils
2 Boxes of crayons-24 count or less
Package of fine markers-12 count or less
4 Erasers – large pink erasers
Scissors (preferably Fiskars)
4 Glue bottles (no paste)
4 Glue sticks
2- boxes of tissues
2-boxes of baby wipes-any brand
An old, clean sock (to erase wipe-off boards)
Boys – 1 box sandwich size Ziploc bags
Girls – 1 box of gallon size Ziploc bags
4 pack of low odor dry erase markers
4 spiral notebooks 70 pg-wide ruled
1 pack each of addition and subtraction flash cards
4 Highlighters
***Please, no Trapper Keepers, as they do not fit well in the desks.***
