School Improvement Summary
School Overview
Vision :
The Beatty Park staff will address the social, emotional and academic needs of students
entrusted to our care by: Providing a safe positive school climate that is emotionally healthy and teaches
students to be caring and respectful, delivering appropriate and consistent academic instruction that
promotes high achievement, welcoming parents to be a part of their child’s education through frequent
communication and other opportunities for involvement, offering mental health support to address the
child’s emotional needs through individual and group counseling.
Instructional Program:
Beatty Park Elementary incorporates the Common Core Standards for
reading/language arts and math and Ohio Content Standards for health, science, and social studies. Our
students all have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) where educational and behavioral needs of the
student are addressed. Accommodations and modifications are provided to allow for student success.
Each classroom is staffed with a special education teacher and an intervention aide and has no more than
10 students in any classroom.
Programming to Address Non-Academic Barriers:
At Beatty Park we address all aspects of a
child’s development. We have a partnership with St. Vincent’s Family Center that provides 6 Master
Level mental health clinicians who address mental health education, intervention and support to students
and families. They also provide a recreation therapist who provides social skill and anger management
support. Beatty Park also has a full time behavior specialist to help address student behavior and
classroom accommodations. We have a full time social worker to provide supports to families in areas
such as housing, food, attendance and mental health. As you can see, we provide a comprehensive
system of supports and programming for our students.
School Goals:
1. Increase student achievement in reading and math.
2. Increase opportunities for parent and community involvement.
3. Each student will achieve at least one year of growth academically.
