Checklist Applications and Platforms Due: Monday, October 10th in the Center for Student Activities and Leadership Development by 4:30pm. Voting Process: Wednesday, October 19th during dinner with paper ballots. Final 8 Couples Recognition Ceremony and Final Voting Process: Thursday, October 20th at Midnight Madness in the Robert J. Mellow Center. Final Court announcement: Friday, October 21st at the Homecoming Formal at The Woodlands Inn & Resort. Eligibility 1. Requirements: To be eligible to apply for the Homecoming Court, a student must meet the following requirements: a. Be a full-time undergraduate student of Marywood University. b. Be in good judicial standing with the University at the time the application is due. You will be ineligible to participate in Homecoming application process if you are sanctioned to University disciplinary probation during any part of the Homecoming process. 2. Homecoming Positions: will be as follows. Completed credits are totaled as of the end of the Spring 2011 semester. a. King and Queen- Seniors (90 credits or more) b. Prince and Princess- Juniors (60-89 credits) c. Duke and Duchess- Sophomores (30-59 credits) d. Lord and Lady- Freshman (0-29 credits) 3. Rules: a. The final 16 candidates are required to attend all preannouncement activities as well as attend the Homecoming dance. b. Campaigning is acceptable. Rules for campaigning are as follows. i. Any Homecoming candidacy material may be posted in any building on campus except for the Liberal Arts Center Rotunda, Main Dining Room, First Stop, and the Post Office. ii. All flyers must be approved and stamped by the SALD Office. iii. At no time during voting is the candidate allowed to lobby, near or around the voting stations, this will lead to disqualification. iv. All signs within a radius of 20 feet of the election booth will be removed the day of Homecoming voting. v. The SALD Office reserves the right to remove signs that are not stamped or that are considered to be in poor taste or in violation of any of the above regulations. vi. Candidates will be contacted on the evening of elections by e-mail. The results will also be posted in the SALD Office. 4. Application Process: a. The attached application must be fully completed and turned into the Center for Student Activities and Leadership Development no later than October 10th. Falsifying the information on this application will result in immediate disqualification from the Homecoming process. b. The applicants that meet all of the requirements, and whose references are validated will be notified, via e-mail by October 11th that they will be included in the voting process. c. Candidates must also provide two identical platforms for approval by October 10th to the Center for Student Activities and Leadership Development. All approved platforms will be displayed at voting sites. Please see attached sheet for platform requirements and regulations. d. Voting will take place October 19th via paper ballots located outside of the Main Dining Hall from 4:30 – 6:30pm. e. Upon completion of the voting period, votes will be tallied and the top two couples from each class will be notified and recognized at Midnight Madness, on Thursday, October 20th in the Robert J. Mellow Center for Athletics and Wellness where final voting will take place. The winning couple for each class will be announced at the Homecoming Formal. 5. Platform Requirements: a. Must be at least 8.5 x 11 in size. Make your platforms creative and energetic. b. Please print legibly your name, phone number and email address on the back of your platforms. All platforms need to be approved by the SALD office. c. Do not include any inappropriate images or foul language. d. Some things to include. i. Name ii. Summary of previous leadership and/or volunteer experience. iii. Major iv. Class year v. Class Throne you are running for. vi. Including a picture of yourself is strongly encouraged. 6. Advertisements a. Applicants are allowed 10 free black/white copies in SALD office. All advertisements must be approved and stamped by SALD.
