Roger A. Javens Founder/Director December 9, 2007 Dear Friends of Let’s Go Ministries: This past year, the Lord has both given and taken away relationships involving three very special women in my life. On April 7th, He gave me my wonderful wife Jennifer in marriage. On May 20th, He took away my precious sister Cynthia, who lost her battle with cancer. Then on November 18th, He took away my amazing grandmother, Maxine Srmack, at age 96. What a blessing these past 8 months have been as Jen and I have begun our new life together as one. But this time has also been mixed with sorrow and grieving, as I’ve dealt with the loss of my sister and grandmother, both great inspirations to me. My hope and prayer, regardless of your circumstances this past year, is that you will join with me in confessing like Job… The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord. I’m very excited and encouraged about what 2008 holds for Let’s Go Ministries. On Monday, January 14th, I’ll begin my fifth year as the coordinator for the Houston North Perspectives on the World Christian Movement class being held at Metropolitan Baptist Church and cosponsored by Cypress Bible Church. This course covers the Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic basis for missions, and in amazing ways, reveals God’s heart for all peoples. Perspectives is the #1 missions course in the world…literally! God used Perspectives to clarify His call on my life as a mobilizer for world evangelization and cross-cultural missions. I want to boldly challenge you to take this course so you can clarify/grow in your role in God’s plan to reach the nations. Please click on the Perspectives link here or contact me to learn more about the class and how to sign-up. On February 15-16th, Charles Cross and I will be serving together in the “Do Something Now” area at the Passion Conferences regional event in Dallas. Charles is a good friend and is Greater Europe Mission’s Field Director for France. Over 5,000 college students will gather for two days to worship and to be challenged by speakers Louie Giglio & Frances Chan to live for God’s glory in the nations. P.O. Box 11661 * Spring, TX 77391-1661 * 281-583-7614 * rjavens@ourchurch.com From March 14-21st, Jennifer and I will facilitate a missions conference at Greater Europe Mission’s conference center in the heart of the French Alps. This will be a time for challenging participants concerning God’s work in France and around the world. It also is an opportunity to enjoy sightseeing, hiking, skiing and snowboarding. GEM missionaries will be sharing messages and Russ and Marj Speiser from Proclaim International will be leading in praise & worship. If you or your group are interested in joining us, just let me know. The cost is $1400 and inclusive of airfare, transportation, lodging and most meals. A deposit is needed by January 13th to reserve your airfare. If you cannot attend but would like to help offset the cost for the speakers and worship leaders please let me know that as well. In early June, Jennifer & I and Charles & Amy Cross will return to France to participate in the Passion Conference’s World Tour 2008 in Paris. Through much prayer, and as a result of Matt Redman’s experience at Pentecost 2007 in Valence, France, Paris was added to the world tour. Please pray that God will do an incredible work in the body of Christ in France during this event! Finally, from July 1-12th, Jennifer & I will be leading a coastal mission trip to Malindi, Kenya for Houston’s First Baptist Church. We plan to do evangelism from hut to hut and village to village, children’s ministry, pastoral training, sports ministry, and sanitation & hygiene training in the African bush. We are also open to dental, medical and vision care if God leads in that direction. Cost for this trip will be approximately $3000. If the Lord leads you to make a year-end gift to LGM please know that it will be used wisely and faithfully to mobilize others for participation in the Great Commission. Gifts can be designated to individual projects, scholarship needs for classes and trips, or for general use by the ministry. But more than anything, Jennifer & I need your prayers for wisdom as we follow God in this great adventure to which He has called us. Have a very Merry Christmas and blessed New Year! Blessed be the name of the Lord, Roger A. Javens P.O. Box 11661 * Spring, TX 77391-1661 * 281-583-7614 * rjavens@ourchurch.com
