COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is an advanced hyperbaric training program. It focuses on delivering advanced safety
information and developing critical thinking skills. The curriculum is very interactive. Both
monoplace and multiplace issues are addressed.
OBJECTIVE
Upon completion of the course participants should understand the tools necessary to fulfill the
responsibilities of a hyperbaric safety director.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Hyperbaric technologists, respiratory therapists, nurses, physicians, and department managers
who desire specific training to fulfill the requirements of hyperbaric safety director (as defined by
NFPA 99). Class limited to first 48 persons who register.
PREREQUISITES
Participants should have completed an introductory course in hyperbaric medicine.
TUITION
The tuition of $495.00 includes all lectures, practical exercises, and course materials. Fees can be
paid by cash, check, or credit card and should be received prior to course date. Tuition includes
a $50 non-refundable administrative fee.

The UHMS designates this educational activity for a maximum of 28 category 1 credits toward
the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that
he/she actually spent in the activity.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and
policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the
joint sponsorship of the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) and International
ATMO, Inc. The UHMS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education
for physicians.

Nix Health Care System provider # 032521-B is an approved provider of continuing nursing
education by Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center’s Commissions on Accreditation. This activity meets Type I criteria for
mandatory continuing education requirements toward relicensure as established by the
Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. This offering is approved for 28 CNE.

This program has been reviewed and is acceptable for 28 Category A credit hours by the
National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology.

Participants are responsible for their own travel, food, and lodging. A block of rooms is reserved at
the St. Anthony Hotel. A rate of $119 (plus 16.75% hotel tax) is available. For reservations please call
1210-227-4392 or 1-800-WYNDHAM. The St. Anthony is located at 300 East Travis Street, San Antonio
TX 78205. The groups is listed as International ATMO. Hotel blocks will be released 30 days prior to
the course start date. All reservations made after the block has closed will be on a space available

September Accommodations
