Candidate Introduction: (Academic and work achievements, organizational skills and
individual strength, etc. about 150 words).
Dr. Lubo Zhou got his BS degree in Chemical Engineering in1986 from Tsinghua
University in Beijing China, and his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering in 1995
from Texas A&M university in College Station, Texas. After his graduation from
Texas A&M University, He worked for Fluor Daniel in Houston, Texas, and UOP, in
Des Plaines, Illinois. He joined UOP in 1996, and has been working for the company
since then. He started his career at UOP as a R&D Specialist, and was promoted to
senior R&D specialist in 2001 and R&D manager in 2006. Dr. Zhou has showed his
consistent willingness as a volunteer working for different organizations. He
served as the President of Chinese American Chemical Society (CACS) – the Great
Lakes Chapter in 2004, and has worked as journal editor for CACS Communications
since 2006. He is currently the board of director for Chinese American Chemical
Society. In 2008, he started Honeywell Asian Network – Chicago Chapter (HAN-CC)
inside UOP, currently is the first HAN-CC president. In the Association of Chinese
Scientists and Engineers, he has served as the director of general activities
since 2007.

Candidate’s Plans: (If elected, your plans, goals, promise, etc. for ACSE, about
150 words. Add a page if more than 150 words).
If I am elected, I will work in the industrial and government relationship area to
help ACSE strengthing the connections with industrial companies and government
departments/agents both in China and in US. Through the activities, I hope that I
can help the members of ACSE to build stronger relationnship with industry and
government agency. The opitmal goal is to help members to gain the opportunities to
start their own business, or to find better career growth enivironment. The plan is
to charter a sub-committee and recuit 3 to 5 people in this committee. The

committee member will make a concrete plan and feasible implementing procedures in
the first three months after the sub-committee is established. I will serve as the
chairman of this sub-committee.
