The laboratory course cannot be taken prior to Research Methods (PSYC3311), but it may be taken at the same time. Important Reminders Psychology majors must earn at least a C- in Introduction to Psychology. Students with more than one major should seek advising every semester from their advisor in each major. Sequence Courses Psychological Statistics (PSYC 2311), Research Methods (PSYC 3311), and Advanced Seminar in Psychology (PSYC 5113) are “sequence” classes – that is, each course is a prerequisite for the next and you must take them in the order listed. You must earn at least a C- in each class to take the next class in the sequence. If you do not earn at least a C-, you must re-take the class until a C- is earned. You may not take the next class in the sequence until you have earned a C- in the previous class. Additionally, you must earn at least a C- in Advanced Seminar in Psychology in order to graduate. PSYC 2311, 3311, and 5113 may each be taken a maximum of 3 times. Credit at other institutions You may complete up to 12 credits of general electives at other schools with advance permission from the appropriate Department Chair and Dean’s Office. The last 30 credits must be taken at Seton Hall, and no course required for the Psychology major, a minor, or the University or Arts & Sciences Core can be taken anywhere except Seton Hall. See the undergraduate catalogue for details. PSYCHOLOGY COURSE DISTRIBUTION LIST A course taken to complete the Experiential Learning course may “double-dip” – that is, it may also count toward another PSYC category requirement **Two Laboratory courses with the co-requisite of their related 3 credit lecture course must be completed The laboratory courses must be taken with their associated lectures (e.g. PSYC3224 Cognitive Psychology Laboratory must be taken with PSYC3214 Cognitive Psychology).
