Community Concepts Receives Donation from The Western Maine Board of
Realtors and The Maine Board of Realtors Foundation.
The Western Maine Board of Realtors recently provided $1,140 to Community Concepts Keep
Our Neighbors Warm fund. The Maine Association of Realtors Foundation provided a matching
grant of $1,141. The checks were presented to Jennifer Warriner of Community Concepts by
Patricia Ohler, Program Manager for the Maine Board of Realtors Foundation. The presentation
took place March 13, 2013 at their monthly meeting at the Old Mill Tavern and Restaurant in
Harrison, Maine.
Community Concepts Keep Our Neighbors Warm Fund provides emergency heating assistance
to families and seniors in Androscoggin andOxfordcounties. Founded in 1965, Community
Concepts, Inc. is a private, non-profit community action organization serving central & western
Maine. Its mission is to provide leadership, education and support to build thriving individuals,
families and communities. The agency provides a broad spectrum of services to individuals and
families, under the guidance of an all-volunteer Board of Directors.
In 1993, The Maine Association of REALTORS® Foundation implemented a Matching Grants
program that awards Local Boards of REALTORS® dollar-for-dollar matching funds for affordable
housing related initiatives for which they provide fundraising efforts. Since 1993 the REALTORS®
Affordable Housing Fund has provided just over $512,000 in matching funds for local board
initiatives bringing the grand total of MAR Foundation grant awards to nearly $2,000,000.
