SIG PURPOSES:
1. To support the mission statement of ONS.
2. To provide and promote a dynamic network for subspecialized nurses within ONS.
3. To serve as a forum for communication within the interest area.
4. To identify and explore patient care issues within the interest area.
5. To address current trends and issues within the interest area.
6. To share educational resources and clinical expertise with other Special Interest Groups,
various ONS Advisory Panels/Project Teams and the membership-at-large.

(2) Annual RT SIG Meetings: 4/27/2013 & 5/2/2014
Development of RT SIG Subgroup for Radiation Oncology NPs
Continued to promote collaboration, partnership, and communication with
ASTRO Nursing Committee and membership through inclusion of updates in
the newsletter, on the virtual community, and during SIG meetings. Supporting
the Annual ASTRO/ONS RT SIG session at Congress & ASTRO Annual
Meeting. Vanna Dest & Pamela Devine presented the 2013 ONS/ASTRO
Lecture: Radiation Therapy: The Gift that Keeps on Giving @ 38th ONS
Annual Congress in Washington DC on 4/27/2013 and at the 55th Annual
ASTRO Meeting in Atlanta, GA on 9/22/2013. They also presented the 2014
ONS/ASTRO Lecture: Low Risk Prostate Cancer: To Treat or Not to Treat @
the 39th ONS Annual Congress in Anaheim, CA on 5/3/2014 and will
presented at the 56th Annual ASTRO Meeting in San Francisco, CA on
9/14/2014.
