Half-day sightseeing tour of the most impressive sights of Sofia – the capital of Bulgaria, one of the oldest cities in Europe, with 7,000 years of history. Overnight in Sofia. (B) Day 2 SOFIA – KOPRIVSHTITSA – TROYAN – VELIKO TURNOVO (280 km) After breakfast departure for Koprivshtitsa – one of the most famous museum-towns in Bulgaria. Drive further to the town of Troyan – our worldwide famous pottery center. Visits of the Oreshaka village, situated nearby, with its permanent exhibition of arts and crafts and the Troyan Monastery – third largest monastery in Bulgaria, founded in 14th century. Departure for Veliko Turnovo – capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom (12th – 14th century). Veliko Turnovo is the town with the most glorious historical past in Bulgaria. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo. (B) Day 3 VELIKO TURNOVO – ARBANASSI VILLAGE – TRYAVNA Morning sightseeing tour of Veliko Turnovo – with its stone houses perched over the banks of the Yantra River. Visits of the Tzarevets Hill with ruins from the King’s Palace and the mediaeval fortress and tour of the old town. Drive further to the village of Arbanassi – 4 km away from Veliko Turnovo. Tour of the village including visits of Konstanzliev’s house (19th century) with museum collection and Church of Nativity (17th century). Tour of the two monasteries in the village – St. Nicola and Holy Virgin. Overnight in picturesque medieval town of Tryavna. (B) Day 4 TRYAVNA – BOZHENCI – ETURA – KAZANLUK (140 km) In the mornig – visit of two of ethnographic reserves in Bulgaria – Tryavna town and nearby village of Bozhenzi. The houses were built during the 18th -19th century in a typical for this region Revival style. Drive further to the Etura architectural and ethnographic complex – the unique in South-Eastern Europe open-air museum. Further on is Shipka Cathedral and continue to Kazanluk – small town located in the world’s only Valley of Roses. Visits to the Thracian Tomb (4th century) – UNESCO site, a masterpiece of the Thracian architecture and painting. Overnight in Kazanluk. (B) Day 5 KAZANLUK – NESSEBAR – SUNNY BEACH RESORT (250 km) Morning departure for Nessebar – a unique town (UNESCO site) on the Black Sea. Panoramic walking tour in the Old sity. Departure for Sunny Beach resort – just 5 km north from Nessebar. Overnight at Sunny Beach.
