Elizabeth O’Connor wrote: ’We ask to know the will of God, without guessing that
his will is written into out very beings’. What joy if that were true - if being godly or
holy might sometimes and in some senses go with the grain of you deepest longings
and my innermost being. I have come to believe that basically it does. The problem
for most of us is how to be enough in touch with our innermost selves to know
what our deepest longings really are.
