How Often Should a Fig Plant be Watered? Hypothesis: If I only water my fig plant every 7 days, then it will be more healthy, because every 15 days is too little, and every day is too much. Materials: 3 fig plants of the same age and size Paper Water Digital camera Sunny window Notebook and pencil Procedure: 1. Label each fig plant as follows: A (every 15 days), B (every day), and C (every 7 days). (See figure Y on last page of report) 2. Place plants in a sunny window. 3. Water plant B and plant C with ½ Cup of water. 4. Use attached chart to keep track of watering schedule and observations. (See Figure Z) 5. Follow schedule every day for one month. 6. Take digital picture every day when watering plant B. 7. Stop after one month. Results: 1. See Figures Y and Z attached Conclusion: I accept my hypothesis. After one month of watering plant A every 15 days, plant B once a day, and plant C every 7 days, I found that the fig plant requires watering once a week to maintain its health. Watering the fig plant every 15 days left the plant too dry, and every day was too much water. I learned that I should water my fig plant every 7 days. If I were to repeat this experiment, I would have liked to have included the humidity of the room. Perhaps at a more humid or less humid time, the plants would have required more or less watering.
