La Caniada
is the name of the olive grove where we shall be staying. It is situated in
the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada called Los Alpujarras. 2 hours from Malaga airport.
It is green and fertile land largely because of the old watering system created by the Moors.
There is a large farmhouse and 4 cottages with their own unique décor and ambience. They are
surrounded by 5 acres of serene olive groves and fragrant orchards 100s of years old, where
the healing powers of nature pervade the senses. Whilst this is a region of outstanding natural
beauty with the breath taking Sierra Nevadas as a backdrop, the bustling market town of
Orgiva is only 2k distant. Tranquility, simplicity and closeness to heaven and earth are key
features on these ‘soul journeys’ with Lainey.
An attractive shaded terrace provides an idyllic alfresco dining experience designed to titillate the
taste buds and overlooks a beautiful swimming pool with abundant surrounding shade.
Yoga twice daily
with Lainey is gentle and strengthening. Yoga
sessions are a vital and essential aspect for participants on these
‘soul journeys’ deepening connection with body, mind and spirit.
More than just a holiday this is a time to rekindle spiritual
awareness and attunement to self. You will come to realizations,
new inspirations and moments of insight about your life and
yourself.
Food for the Soul
created to ‘heal and inspire’ is the ethos
of our chef, Jenny Wood. Great care is placed on healthy, fresh
vegetarian food most of which is organic and locally grown.
Refreshing herbal teas, from a variety of herbs grown in Jenny’s
garden have become great favourites with groups.
Excursions
Include a visit to typical craft villages situated
high in the mountains of the Alpujarras. We also visit a local
market in Orgiva (our nearest village approx 2k distant) and enjoy
a traditional Spanish meal there.

Climate Every
season has its own special magic and this time of the year is hot, although
tempered by breezes from the mountains and the sea. June - September are beautiful
times with September assuredly the mildest and most abundant month with it’s figs, grapes,
almonds . . . Where possible soul journey dates are chosen around the full moon. The power
of the moon is the inner power of the feminine, of growth, of reflection, inspiration and
imagination – the embodiment of ideas.
More about YOGA and Chi Gung
yoga is designed for all with a reasonable level
of fitness. Some experience is helpful bit not essential. Yoga postures help to stimulate
the lymphatic system assisting the removal of toxins from the body, which, if allowed to
accumulate, cause pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. Correct breathing is another
important feature of Yoga. Most of the evening sessions are devoted to yoga breathing and
meditation.
Chi Gung
Chi means ‘energy’ and Gung means ‘work’. Chi Gung is a system of ‘energy work’
using soft, flowing and graceful exercises which calm and still the mind. It is simple to
follow and participants love it for its meditative qualities. Some chi gung is included in the
morning and evening yoga sessions.
Massages
As an Aromatherapist and Massage Therapist for over 23 years I have
observed the power of touch and how essential it is to integrate strong experiences through
our bodies. Through our bodies we have the strongest connection to spirit. As we
experience more sensation in our bodies from yoga, massages, breathing, fragrance, guided
visualisation, exercise etc, we increase awareness and healing occurs in the body.

Our local therapists, Carol, Clare and Arantxa in Andalucia are part of our team and love
the warmth and friendliness of ‘Soul Journey’ groups. They are available for participants to
have 2 - 3 and even more sessions each per week. Reflexology, Indian Head Massage,
Aromatherapy and sometimes Thai massage are offered. This is wonderful support on our
'soul journeys' and quantum leaps can be made by experiencing as many treatments as
possible. These nurturing treatments range in cost from €30 - €60.

Please read the brochure and the following booking conditions carefully

On receipt of your signed booking form and deposit we will accept your booking subject to the
terms and conditions of this brochure.
2)
Once you have paid a deposit, which is non-refundable, you will be invoiced for the balance
due. Please pay balance by 30 June 2008. Full payment is required if booking after 30 June.
Should you be unable to travel and have paid in full, see item 7 below.
3)
Prices are guaranteed once full payment has been received. Before this we reserve the right
to change our prices. In the unlikely event of our having to do this, we shall notify you.
4)
In the unlikely event that the holiday is cancelled, we shall refund any holiday costs paid.
5)
Whilst it is unlikely that we shall have to make changes, we reserve the right to do so at any
time. We shall inform you if this is necessary.
