Dear Parents,

The morning drop off time has become a serious safety concern here at Sickles. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate our drop off procedures.

Help to keep our children safe by following the procedures detailed below. Please save this letter and share it with any other adults who will be transporting your child to school.

 Pull to the front of the line of traffic to drop off. The drop off zone is marked with two signs. While between those signs, you should not

get out of the car. Do not stop your car in the center of Willow Street except as needed to pull into a parking spot. Use your blinker to let other drivers know when you are ready to pull into a spot or away from the curb.

 To keep the traffic flow moving, please have the children exit the car on the curb side only and then slowly pull away from the curb. Children should get school materials ready at home so that they can exit the car without delay. If a longer good bye is needed, please park in a designated spot.

Children must exit the car on the passenger’s side.

Mr. Megill and/or a police officer will be present to direct the traffic. We have had a couple of close calls, and as a community we must be attentive to the safety of the children.

Thank you for your attention to this letter. Please don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Marion Carolan

Principal
