The report is devoted to the presentation of the program “The Nizhny Novgorod museums in
Internet” The basic developer and executor of this program is the Center of Information recourses
of UNN and the Museum of University of Nizhny Novgorod. The planned long-term program is
carried out under support of the NN fund of museums.
The program parts realized in the form of the complete projects.
The first stage of the program included the realization of the Web site “The museums of
Nizhny Novgorod” and was based on the Grant of Open Society Institute (OSI).
On this bases was formed the ideas of the project “The virtual museum net of Nizhny
Novgorod” and “The virtual museum (museum of influence)”. This is realization of the second
stage of the program. The creation of the Training Center of computer and Internet technologies to
study the museum specialist is planned of this stage.







The report consider the next problems:
the problems of sanction and copyrights;
the problem of information which given in the Internet in the open form:
the questions of cooperation of the museum, regional and federal programs and projects;
the questions of cooperation and effective delimitation of authority;
the questions of organization, realization and accompaniment of common interregional
projects;
the questions of museum specialists training;
the questions of realization these projects and the receiving informative results.

academic network FREEnet, deputy chairman of board of director of the Nizhny Novgorod fund of

The chief of development of the first historical-cultural site of Nizhni Novgorod (1995, honorable
document and premium of both of Duma and administration of Nizhni Novgorod "for presentation
of Nizhny Novgorod in world computer networks" (1997));
The scientific chief of the project of creation regional humanitarian Web-sites "The Museums of
Nizhny Novgorod" (1998), "The History of Nizhny Novgorod region" (1999), "A.S. Pushkin in
Nizhni Novgorod region" (1999);
The chief of the regional program "The Museums of Nizhny Novgorod in the Internet".
More than 100 scientific works are published in the field of information technologies, education and
information of humanitarian sphere.

Center of information resources of University of Nizhny Novgorod
The center of information resources is created in 1998 on the basis of Nizhny Novgorod
regional unit of an academic network FREEnet. The basic task of the center consists in creation of
regional information resources of a humanitarian and educational direction.
The center works within the framework of the uniform concept of creation of humanitarian
information space of the Nizhny Novgorod region in coordination with other organizations of
culture of region.
Lately a number of the projects of creation of regional humanitarian Web-sites are realized in
the center, including " the Museums of Nizhny Novgorod ", "The History of Nizhny Novgorod
region", "A.S. Pushkin in Nizhny Novgorod region", "Creativity of young citizens of Nizhny
Novgorod" etc.
The strategic partner of the Nizhny Novgorod fund of museums at realization of the regional
program " the Nizhny Novgorod museums in the Internet " and application of information
technologies in museum sphere.

The candidate of historical sciences, associated professor, director of The Museum of University of
Nizhny Novgorod, chairman of board of director of the Nizhniy Novgorod fund of museums.
Fields of scientific researches: a social-economic history of Russia of second half 18th - beginning
19th centuries, history of museum business in Russia, common Museum science. The author more
than 40 works, including monograph " N.I.Lobachevskiy and Nizhny Novgorod region at the
boundary 18th-19th centuries.
The specialist in organization of museum business (founder of a museum of university, museum of
management of the Central bank of Russia on the Nizhny Novgorod area); the head of a new
specialty "Museum science" at historical faculty of university; the honorable worker of a higher
school of Russia, laureate of the premium of Nizhny Novgorod, academician of Academy of
humanitarian sciences.
The Nizhny Novgorod fund of museums
The Nizhny Novgorod fund of museums (Nizhniy Novgorod regional fund of support and
development of museums) is created in 1999. Structure of the founders includes the physical
persons and number of museums of region, including: The Nizhny Novgorod state art museum, The
Literary museum of A.M. Gorky, The Historical-literary museum of N.A.Dobrolybov of Nizhniy
Novgorod, The Museum of GAS, The Museum of UNN etc.
On the basis of fund in the present times are developed and are realized a number of the
regional programs and projects, including: the program " the Nizhny Novgorod museums in the
Internet ", and program " the Nizhny Novgorod museums and cultural tourism ", "200 years of the
Stupin art school" etc.

The Museum of UNN
The museum is based in a 1974, now includes a number of subdivisions, including: a
department of funds, department of information technologies and training tools, zoological
museum, ethnographic department, archeological department, department of a history of a science
and engineering, exposition and exhibition department, and also the Memorial museum of the
Nizhny Novgorod radiolaboratory.
The museum has a fundamental collection of a number of 60 thousands of units of a storage.
Personnel structure of a museum for a 1999 36 persons, including 5 candidates of sciences.

The museum of University conducts large research work on problems of a history of a science
and engineering, will organize the art exhibitions, which purpose is the study of creativity of the
Nizhny Novgorod artists and familiarity with them of the students of university and citizens.
In 1997-1999 years within the framework of the joint project with center of information
resources was realized the project of creation regional Web-site " the museums of Nizhny
Novgorod ".
