MERcutio and Tybalt obituaries
All of Verona is shocked over the recent deaths of two of its most
well-known citizens, Mercutio, kinsman to the Prince and Tybalt
of the house of Capulet. It is your job to write the obituaries for
these two characters from “Romeo and Juliet”.
The obituary for each NEEDS to include the following:
1) The heading of the obituary should be ONE
quote said directly by this character.
2) The birthdate and deathdate of each(look to the
setting of the play for help on this and settle on a date that fits.)
3) A brief biography of this person’s life and
personality (make-up how the character might have been raised
based on what you know about him and how he made a name for
himself in Verona. Describe his personality, what he felt strongly
about and what was important to this person. )
4) An eyewitness account of his death (make believe
that you were present during the death of this character. In your own
words describe what happened and offer your own personal opinion
about what you saw. )
5) Quotes from those who knew him best (find at least
2 direct quotes from another character in the play spoken about this
person. Even if the quote is not very posititve, it can be a good
indication of who this person was. )
6) A picture of the deceased (draw a picture of this
character. Be sure to include color and distinctive features this person
may have had. )
