What you should do
to keep yourself healthy.
“ Health is above wealth,’ the proverb says. When we are healthy
we are strong, active and full of energy. We have to take care of our
health and do the things that are useful for us.
You should have nine hours sleep every night. Children who do not
have enough sleep are always tired and sleepy.
The human body also needs exercises. Walking, running, swimming
and playing football are exercises. They keep the body strong. They
help the blood to move around inside the body. This is very
important, as our blood brings food to all parts of the body.
If you want to keep fit you must go in for one kind of sport or
another. Sport is an essential part of our daily life. Almost every
day you should do the training. You need regular exercises to be
strong and healthy.
Take care of yourself! Keep fit!
Questions: What you should do to be healthy?
How many hours should you sleep every night?
What does your body also need?
What keep your body strong?
Are you going in for sport?
Does professional sport make people healthier?
Which people live longer?
Should society forbid smoking cigarettes? Why?
Group 2.
What you should eat
to keep yourself healthy.
What is your favorite food? Some people love pizza. Some people
love ice cream. Not many would say broccoli is their favorite food.
Bun you can’t eat only pizza and ice cream all the time. You also
need fruits, vegetables, and other kinds of foods. Water is also very
important for your body. You need all kinds of foods to keep your
body strong and healthy. Nutritionists (scientists who study food
and nutrition) say you should eat grains, such as bread, pasta, and
cereal. You should eat eggs, milk, cheese, and other dairy products.
You should eat meat, fish, beans, or tofu (bean curd). They also say
you need to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables every day. But you
should not eat too many foods with lot of fats or sugar.
You need to eat some of each of these different kinds of foods to get
chemicals called nutrients. Carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins,
minerals, and water are nutrients.
Questions: What should you eat to be healthy?
Does your body need a well-balanced diet?
Where is a lot of proteins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats,
vitamins, fibre?
What do you think about genetically modified food?
Which people live longer?
Do pets make life healthier? Why?
