Objective: This course introduces the student to the
new methodologies suited for doing business in the
global economy, rethinking the way we conduct
business to be more streamlined, more productive, and
to be best in the field under more difficult
circumstances.
Instruction: Each class is composed of a lecture, a
class assignment and a homework assignment or
project. The online courses are composed of video
lectures, live chats with the teacher and other students,
written materials online, and discussion forums.
Intro to Computer Based Illustration with
Adobe Illustrator (3 cr. Lower)
Length: 15 three-hour sessions

Objective: The goal of this course is to introduce the
student to the world of graphics and specifically to
illustration through the use of Adobe Illustrator. The
student will learn to identify when to use an
illustration program and the difference between a
vector and raster program. The student will learn to
use Adobe Illustrator to create illustrations including
logos, advertisements, wrappers and packaging, and
realistic illustrations. Topics include drawing,
transforming, positioning and brush tools; color; page
setup; 3-D effects; and preparing work for print.

project. The online courses are composed of video
lectures, live chats with the teacher and other students,
live video, and discussion forums.
Intro to Digital Art and Design with
Photoshop (3 cr. Lower)
Length: 15 three-hour sessions

June 2010 – May 2016
Objective: The goal of this course is to introduce the
student to the world of graphics and specifically to
photo editing through the use of Adobe Photoshop.
The student will learn to identify when to use
Photoshop and the difference between a vector and
raster program. The student will learn to use the
various painting tools in Photoshop, to correct and
adjust flaws and blemishes, to make tonal adjustments, and to add and/or take away parts of photos.
Students will also learn how to make photo montages.
Topics include the use of pen, painting and selection
tools; working with vector objects and shapes, layers,
opacities, masks and adjustment layers; color modes
and color adjustments.
Instruction: Each class is composed of a lecture, a
class assignment and a homework assignment or
project. The online courses are composed of video
lectures, live chats with the teacher and other students,
live video, and discussion forums.
Intro to Page Layout with Adobe Indesign (3
cr. Lower)
Length: 15 three-hour sessions

Objective: The goal of this course is to introduce the
student to the basics of typography and letter form to
create basic one page and multiple page layouts using
Adobe Indesign. Topics include when to use a page
layout program; placing graphics; setting up columns
and margins; and the use of color, typography, grids,
master pages, sections, styles and links.
