Scheme For Food Processing & Training Centre
Objectives :
Development of rural entrepreneurship and transfer of technology for processing of food
products by utilising locally grown raw materials and providing ' hands on' experience at
such production cum training centres , while according priority to SC/ST OBC and
women .
Eligibility :
Central or State Government Organizations, Education and Technical institutions, NGOs
and Cooperatives, provided the implementing agency is willing to make available the
qualified trainer required ,accommodation and other infra-structural facilities .
Pattern of Assistance
Grant-in-aid would be available to the FPTCs to the following extent :
Single Product Line Centre
( for any one group of
processing activities)
Multi Product Line Centre(for
more than one group of
processing activities).
For training the trainers at
recognised institutes such as
CFTRI., Mysore
Rs.2.00 lakhs for Fixed
Capital Cost and Rs. 1.00
lakh as revolving seed captial .
Rs.7.50 lakhs for Fixed
Capital Cost and Rs. 2.00
lakhs as revolving seed captial .
Upto Rs. 0.50 lakh one
time assistance , subject
to actuals on TA/DA etc.

Recurring Expenditure
Recurring expenditure needed for the revolving seed capital on raw materials and consumables
(preservatives/additives/packaging) is expected to be recouped from sale proceeds of products
processed at the centre and the processing fees paid by the growers of raw materials .
How to apply :
While submitting applications the following points may be kept in view :
1. Organisations must have the basic infrastructure of building with minimum covered area of 75 Sq.m.
comprising the following :
(a)
Production room - 25 sq.m.
(b)
Storage room
- 25 sq.m.
(c)
Training room - 25 sq.m.
2. The organisation shall have to procure from their own sources furniture, teaching material and other
items required for training .
3. The expediture on account of salary of the Staff will have to borne by promoters .
The organisation should have a minimum turn over of Rs.1.00 lakh in case of single line & Rs. 2 lakhs
in case of multi-line in preceding year .
4. The NGOs and Cooperatives have to submit an affidavit that the organisation have /have not
availed any assistance from any Govt. Deptt. or Organisation . If assistance has been availed ,
details may be furnished .
5. The Organisation shall have to follow the syllabus prescribed by MFPI, GOI.
6. The organisation shall have to conduct training of at least four batches of 25 person each a year .
7. The Organisation shall have to obtain FPO license after installation of plant & machinery and before
applying for seed capital .
8. The organisation shall have to tie up arrangement for sale of their products to the cooperatives,
Departmental Stores, marketing association or Food Industries .
9. The organisation shall have qualified professional trainers ( B.Sc. in Food or Fruit Technology or Post
Graduate Degree or Diploma in Food or Fruit Technology from a recognised Institute ) . The
organisation shall have at least one trainer for single line and two for multi line FPTC .
10. The organisation while selecting trainees would accord priority to the people belonging to SC/ST/OBC
and women . The trainees will be selected by a committee consisting of representatives from the
Organisation , Principal Food Science Training Centre/In-charge, Govt Fruit Preservation Training
Centre and Lead Bank of the Area .
11. The organisation shall have an existing agreement with near by Govt. Food Science Training
Centre/Govt Fruit Preservation Training Centre for providing technical support and guidance to the
centre to the F.P.T.C. and monitoring their training work .
For availing financial assistance under the scheme following documents are to be submitted
accompanied with the application form .
1. Certificate of incorporation / registration of the organisation.
2. Memorandum and articles of Association / Bye laws of the society
3. Annual Reports/Audited Statement of Accounts of last three years
4. Detailed Project Report
5. Bio-data /background of the office bearers /promoters of the organisation .
6. Copy of affidavit that organisation have not received/applied for financial assistance from any other
Government Agency. If received / applied for give the details thereof .
7. Bank account statement of last three years.
8. Proof for Organization's own capability to raise the fund for project.
9. Proof for Organization's capability to establish and run such projects.
10. Availability of Raw Material for the project in the proposed location.
11. Proof for availability of building according to FPO Standards having minimum carpet area of
75 Sq. mts. including three halls of 25 Sq mts. each.
12. Marketing tie-up for processed products.
13. An affidavit on prescribed format on Stamp paper worth Rs. 10 for producing all required information
related to FPTC to the Deptt. of Horticulture & Food Processing , U.P.
14. Confirmation letter from the civic authorities that organisation have other infra structural
facilities like drainage, power, water, etc.
15. Bio-Data of trainers along with copies of their educational / professional qualifications etc.
16. Copy of an agreement with Govt. Food Science Training Centre/Govt. Fruit Preservation &
Training Centre for providing technical support & guidance for FPTC .
17. Training Syllabus approved from MFPI .
18. A copy of formed selection committee for trainees
