7-28-2011 Walk-Thru, Facilities
> Patty Zeik, Joe Dolney, Jan Shepherd, Gary Moore, Rheba Salac
> Office
> Office Landscaping is new.
> There are no wood-boring bees on exterior.
> There are 2 sidewalk cracks between the Office and the Church.
Cracks have been sealed.
> Lot
> There are 2 lights out, these will be replaced. All other exterior lights are working.
Lights have been replaced.
> Parking spots need to be painted, the Eagle Scouts may be available for this, Jan will check.
It has been determined that project is to big for the scouts.
> Paul Virotto and Patryk Cartwright donated time and talent to build the new mailbox.
> Church
> The light on the left side entry needs replaced.
Light has been replaced.
> There are emergency keys for Fire and Police at the Church doors; this allows access without
damage to the doors.
> The emergency light backup system in the Church has 10 new car batteries.
> Stained glass windows need soldered.
Stained glass has been sealed and being observed for leaks. There has not been any visible leaks
to date.
> The furnace is 37 years old. The motor died 3rd week of June, 2011 and will need to be
replaced.
Motor has been replaced under our maintenance contract at no cost to Parish.
> The exterior rear access door (near furnace and next to the Food Bank garage) will be scraped
and painted and Gary will check inside as we don't know what is there.
> The gutters/downspout at the garage appear hit by a vehicle; will re-connect with elbow at
base to re-direct the water.
All gutters and downspouts have been replaced on the office.
> MAWC wants a backflow preventer installed. About 1st week of July, this will be installed inside
for about $1,000 vs. $3-$5,000 for outside as there is no consistent heavy commercial use.
Backflow system has been installed inside of building.
> Fran Wasko reports repairs needed for pews and kneelers to Gary.
> Concrete cracks in flooring are running along joint lines. This may be repairable with filler and
paint.
> Sacristy
> The furnace in the Sacristy was replaced in 2010 after the fire.
> Chapel
> There is a rainstorm roof leak.
Roof has been replaced and there are not any leaks at this time.
> Stained glass windows need soldered. Framing should be examined and the walls are flaking
around the windows, especially at the base. This could be related to roof issues and is worth
checking on insurance.
Windows resealed when roof was replaced and there are no leaks at this time.
> Alcove
> Gary will work on access for balest lighting.
> Kitchen
> The air vent ducts over the stove were cleaned and inspected.
> 4 new Imperial fryers have been installed, 2 baskets each.
> Gary is looking into a steel panel to place between the fryers and the stove as a fire preventive
measure.
Steel panel has been purchased and installed.
> A large exhaust fan (side wall knockout) was brought up to cool the kitchen and save AC.
> Social Hall
> The side steps into the Hall have metal rusting and cracking and will need to be replaced.
> The interior windows are OK, and the light, key fit and level of the rear entry door have been
repaired.
> Floor tiles at this door should be replaced, they are crumbling and will present a safety hazard
because of heavy use.
> There is a windblock/foyer/door section plans proposal for this area; Jan or Gary may be able
to locate it.
> Gary will putty the social hall windows (exterior).
> The Social Hall roof is 3 years old.
> AC is 3 years old.
> All 3 bathrooms are in good working order.
> Janitor's Closet
> One water heater was replaced in 2010; the other was replaced in 2005.
> AC and heat controls are located here.
> The closet was cleaned, reset and painted.
> Classrooms
> It is time to patch and paint the classrooms, CLWR, St. Barbara Room, Library, etc.
> Both bathrooms are in good order.
> Basement Rear LL
> Rear entry steps bottom steps have a slight wobble and the bannister needs to be re-attached.
Gary will work on this.
Steps have been shimmed.
> Additional
> The Fire Inspection is done. There are 25 extinguishers throughout. Exit notes are posted
throughout the buildings.
> We did not visit the Parish House, and Joe noted siding and roofs on all buildings. All 7 roofs
are being checked.
> Per Gary all systems in the Parish House (including appliances) are working well.
> He will keep notes for update.
