I confirm that I agree to the following terms and conditions for participation in the train discount scheme:
a) This scheme is offered by National Express East Anglia to employees of Colchester2020
Travel Plan Club members to encourage more sustainable travel to work, and is
applicable primarily for travel to and from work from any rail station on the National
Express East Anglia Network .
b) The scheme is for the purchase of a season ticket or flexi business travel carnet for travel
between home and your usual place of work.
c) It is acknowledged that the season ticket and flexi business travel carnet may be used for
personal travel out side of your normal working hours providing that the predominant use is
for the purposes set out in clause (b) and it is permitted under the train company’s terms and
conditions of travel.
d) For clarity, a flexi business travel carnet purchased through this scheme has the following
terms and conditions of use:
For your journey to work:
 Point to point journey i.e. Ipswich to Colchester
 Same Day Return
 Valid for travel at anytime of the day
 One ticket per return journey
 Date of travel to be validated prior to boarding the train
e) Where possible and appropriate you will use the ticket for business travel at no additional
cost to your organisation.
f)
You will assist in the monitoring of the scheme by completion of user questionnaires as and
when requested.
g) Although the scheme has been set up by Colchester2020 in partnership with National
Express East Anglia, the actual contract relating to the purchase of a ticket is between you
and National Express East Anglia and therefore all National Express East Anglia’s standard
Terms & Conditions apply to your purchase. This includes but is not limited to:
I)
In the event of incorrect or fraudulent use of the ticket, National Express East Anglia
reserves the right to withdraw the ticket without refund.

II) National Express East Anglia reserve the right to decline to sell tickets to anyone
involved in antisocial, serious misbehaviour or criminal activity.
III) Normal refund and compensation arrangements will apply including any admin fees
due
IV) If tickets are lost or left at home then normal charges will apply and no subsequent
refund will be available.
V) You must keep the ticket and Photo Card (where applicable) together at all times
whilst travelling
h) Neither Discounted season tickets and flexi business travel carnets are obtainable via the
National Express Customer Contact Centre. Payment must be made at the time of booking
and only by debit or credit card. Tickets will be sent to your home address.
i)
Colchester2020 Travel Plan Club nor your organisation can be held responsible for any
errors made by National Express East Anglia in the issuing to you of a season ticket or flexi
business travel carnet. However assistance will be provided in the resolution of any
problems between you and National Express East Anglia.
j)
If you leave your organisation’s employment or the predominant use of your season ticket or
flexi business travel carnet is no longer for work purposes you will no longer be entitled to
the discount on the remainder of your ticket and therefore must forthwith seek a refund from
National Express East Anglia.
k) You agree to comply with the terms of use for the season ticket/flexi business travel carnet
issued by National Express East Anglia and not to do anything which would adversely affect
the good standing of your organisation or Colchester2020Travel Plan Club.
l)
Colchester2020 Travel Plan Club can amend and/or withdraw any travel discount scheme
offered to employees of Colchester2020 Travel Plan Club members at any time and is under
no obligation to provide further travel discounts
m) I understand that this discount scheme and the season ticket and/or flexi business travel
carnet issued to me, is for my use only and predominantly for me to travel to and from work.
If used for any other purpose, this may result in disciplinary action.
