Member’s 2002/2003 Commitment to Strengthen the Reading Stake of Zion
I seek the blessing from the Lord that the Reading Stake of Zion be strengthened and her borders enlarged. Therefore, as a member of the
Reading Stake, I make the following commitments to the Lord to be worthy of that blessing:
Proclaiming the Gospel
I commit to the Lord that I will strive more diligently to
share the joys of the gospel with more of my friends
and neighbors by:

Carrying “Pass Along Cards” with me and
making a renewed effort to give them to friends
and acquaintances

Doing all I can to make visitors feel welcome at
church meetings and activities

Accepting assignments from my priesthood
leaders to work with and support the missionaries

Praying daily that the Lord will bring to us those
He has prepared to hear the gospel
As I work to keep this commitment, I join my faith and
prayers with all members of the stake in petitioning the
Lord to bless our stake this year by bringing to us at
least
140 new converts.
Perfecting the Saints
I commit to the Lord that I will strive more diligently to
strengthen the members of the stake by:

Increasing my individual spirituality and
personal purity through personal daily scripture
study and prayer, and meaningful fasting

Building greater love and harmony in my home

Uplifting others through more selfless service,
and watching over and strengthening others,
especially those that I home or visiting teach

Partaking more often of the peace and
protection of Temple blessings by improving the
quality of my temple worship, or, if necessary,
preparing myself to be worthy to enter the temple

Praying daily that the Lord will strengthen the
faith and testimony of each member of our stake,
especially those who are not attending church
As I work to keep this commitment, I join my faith and
prayers with all members of the stake in petitioning the
Lord to bless our stake this year with
300 more saints attending sacrament meeting
80 more saints holding current temple recommends
Redeeming the Dead
I commit to the Lord that I will strive more diligently to
provide the ordinances of salvation for the dead by:

Returning to the temple as often as my
circumstances allow

Making efforts to perform ordinances for my own
ancestors

Praying that the members of the stake be given
success in their personal family history efforts
As I work to keep this commitment, I join my faith and
prayers with all members of the stake to petition the
Lord to pour out the spirit of Elijah over the stake and
guide our members to find more of their ancestors this
year

Unit Council Member's 2002/2003 Commitment to Strengthen the Reading Stake of Zion
I seek the blessing from the Lord that the Reading Stake of Zion be strengthened and her borders enlarged. Therefore, as a leader in the Reading
Stake, or one of her wards or branches, I make the following commitments to the Lord to be worthy of that blessing:
Proclaiming the Gospel
I commit to the Lord that I will strive more diligently to
help the stake enlarge its borders by:
Perfecting the Saints
I commit to the Lord that I will strive more diligently to
strengthen the members of the stake by:
Redeeming the Dead
I commit to the Lord that I will strive more diligently to
provide the ordinances of salvation for the dead by:

Being an example of sharing the gospel

Improving my own spirituality

Being an example of temple worship

Making the Weekly Unit Council Meetings a
success

Being a better example of a true shepherd



Teaching those over whom I have stewardship to
better share the gospel

Praying that the members of the stake be given
success in their personal family history efforts

Discussing in all presidency meetings, PPI’s, or
interviews, how my organization can support
sharing the gospel
Teaching those over whom I have stewardship to
(1) better watch over and strengthen others
(2) become or remain worthy to enter the temple
(3) improve the quality of their temple worship
Teaching those over whom I have stewardship
the importance of family history work

Praying in all our meetings that the Lord will
bring to us those he has prepared to hear the
gospel
As I work to keep this commitment, I join my faith and
prayers with all the members of the stake in petitioning
the Lord to bless our stake this year by bringing to us at
