Action Plan Assignment Directions and Scoring Due: Benchmark #1 This assignment is worth 55 points Context For each NETS-A indicator and ELCC standard area of competence, you are required to develop an action plan, complete a log of activities, and write a reflection. The action plan will help you outline activities that you will complete to meet each standard's area of competence or indicator. The log of activities will document the specific leadership activities that you observe or perform, the number of hours that you spent per activity, and your reflections about the activities. In other words, the log of activities is the implementation of your Action Plan. Note, you will use the same document to complete your Action Plan and Log of Activities. Finally, you will draw upon your experiences documented in the Activity Log at the end of the internship, and complete a Final Reflection Paper and a Digital Portfolio, highlighting your best work. Assignment Overview For your Action Plan you will brainstorm with other members of your cohort as well as your site-based mentor, activities that you could complete throughout the year to help you achieve NETS-A and ELCC standards. The action plan will help you outline activities that you will complete to meet every performance indicator for a standard. Activities may address multiple performance indicators within a standard or across more than one standard. Directions You will use a template to complete your action plan and log of activities. For each set of standards (ELCC or NETS-A), there are two versions of templates to choose from: a Word document containing all 21 NETS-A indicators and 21 ELCC areas of competence, or an online Google Spreadsheet that contains 12 separate worksheets, each with all standards and indicators/ areas of competence. 1. Select the template you wish to use (Word document or Google Doc*). 2. Use the following resources and ideas to help you brainstorm possible activities you could do to achieve each of the standards: a. Action Plan Ideas Discussion forum – discuss activity ideas with other members of the cohort b. Ask your site-based mentor for guidance and suggestions c. Access the resources provided found on the Action Plan page of the course site. 3. Determine action items applicable to your situation that will help you to achieve the standards. 4. Submit your Action Plan to the Gradebook by Benchmark #1. Note, by Benchmark #3, you will complete and log approximately 100 hours of activities. You will also include reflections for the activities that you log. * If you choose to use the Google Doc, simply create a Word document and include the URL in the document (the Gradebook cannot accept a website address). Also be sure to share the document with your supervisor so that he or she may write comments directly on your plan.
