Enrichment week: 7th – 11th July 2014
Dear Parent/Carer
I am writing to inform you of the academy uniform expectations for the forthcoming enrichment
week.
For the following academy trips full academy uniform MUST be worn:
 The Royal Opera House
 The trip to the Natural History Museum through the ‘CSI Harlow’ project
Year 10 students attending the Careers information workshops on Thursday 10 th July must
also wear full Academy uniform.
When working on the Academy site, students may wear uniform OR pay £1 to wear
appropriate non-uniform. The clothing must be practical, modest and suitable for our academy
environment. Therefore the following are NOT to be worn:
 Low cut tops
 Crop tops that expose the mid-riff/tummy
 Low-slung trousers that fall below the hip
 Shoes with high heels
 Vests/vest tops
Can I also remind you that normal Academy rules on make-up and jewellery will still
apply.
The £1 proceeds will go to the Dolphin Children’s Ward at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in
Harlow. This is a charity that has been identified by our students as being one the Mark Hall
Academy should have strong links with in the future.
May I take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your co-operation in making our
Enrichment week a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Yours sincerely
Stuart Botham
