WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS 1. PURPOSE This document will describe the policy and procedures for 1.1. Processing withdrawals (domestic students) 1.2. Processing refunds (domestic students) 1.3. Processing withdrawals and refunds (international students residing outside of Australia) 2. SCOPE The scope of this document applies to 2.1 All courses except some “Fee For Service” courses where contract terms may differ 2.2 Domestic and international students residing outside of Australia 2.3 All fees 3. POLICY The policy statements that apply are 3.1 Students are eligible for a 100% refund of fees paid if Chisholm Online cancels their course after enrolment and the student chooses not to accept a place in an alternative Chisholm Online or Chisholm Institute course that they have been offered 3.2 An administration fee will be applied for all refunds (except when Chisholm cancels the course) 3.3 All refunds will be paid to the same person or organisation who paid the fees and will be paid in Australian dollars 3.4 Fees that apply to students withdrawing from a Chisholm Online course can be accessed from the Chisholm Online website at: http://www.chisholmonline.edu.au/apply-now/pages/fees.aspx 3.5 These policies and procedures do not remove the right for students to take further action ender Australia’s consumer protection laws 3.6 No refunds will be granted for other fees where the goods or services have already been provided 3.7 No refunds will be granted for materials fees, except where goods and/or activities have not been supplied, or where goods have been returned unused within 30 days of supply. Please note that Chisholm Online do not charge a Student Amenities and Materials fee. Some TAFE courses require you to pay additional fees on top of your course fees, for services such as student counselling and library and for course materials. 3.8 Withdrawal requests for students are available via the Chisholm Online Student Portal at http://www.chisholmonline.edu.au/currentstudents/portal/pages/studentportal.aspx or please contact our student engagement team at support@chisholmonline.edu.au quoting your student ID number and withdrawal request details All fees except Short Course fees and fees funded by VET Fee Help and Fee Help 3.9 A refund of tuition, student services and amenities and ancillary fees will be only paid if a withdrawal/refund application is lodged within four weeks of the course commencement date for that study period 3.10 Any outstanding payment plans must continue to be paid if a withdrawal/refund application is lodged more than four weeks after the course commencement date for that study period Chisholm Institute Policy: QMS115 © Chisholm Online 2014 Fees funded by VET Fee Help and Fee Help 3.11 A refund of tuition fees, student services and amenities and ancillary fees will be only paid if a student withdraws on or before the Census Date for that study period Short Courses 3.12 A refund of fees will only be paid for if a student withdraws before the course commencement date International Students studying outside of Australia 3.13 All refunds will be paid in Australian dollars 3.14 Refunds will not be paid if withdrawal of the enrolment offer was made based on fraudulent documentation provided by the student 3.15 Commencing students will receive a full refund of tuition fees paid (less the administration fee), if a withdrawal/refund application is lodged four weeks prior to the course commencement for that study period 3.16 Continuing students will receive a full refund of tuition fees paid for the current teaching period and any future fees already paid, if a withdrawal/refund application is lodged within four weeks of the course commencement date for that study period 3.17 Any outstanding payment plans must continue to be paid if a withdrawal/refund application is lodged more than four weeks after the course commencement date for that study period 3.1 Refunds for packaged courses will be subject to the refund policies and procedures of the partner organisation Chisholm Institute Policy: QMS115 © Chisholm Online 2014
