St. Paul Ukrainian Dance Club

Solos, Duets and Trios

Interest:

If your child is interested in learning a solo, duet or trio the following is important information that you as the parent must know.

Dancers should have a strong grasp of material presented in regular dance class and be able to practice the solo/duet/trio independently on their own time.

Solo’s/duet’s/trio’s are taught at the discretion of the instructor.

Fees:

Instructional fees for the solo/duet/trio are the sole responsibility of the parent(s). The parent(s) must contact the instructor and indicate interest. The parent(s) must sign a contract with the instructor.

Practices:

Practice Time will be arranged by the instructor and dancer(s), and will not be taught during the St. Paul & District Ukrainian Dance paid times. All members of the St. Paul

& District Ukrainian Dance club may utilize the dance studios at no charge.

The dancer is responsible for compensating the instructor for any instruction or supervision of “private carry-over” dances and for booking studio time if required. (as per instructors contract)

If a dancer cannot attend his/her solo/duet practice as scheduled, it is the responsibility of the parent and dancer to notify the instructor as soon as possible. Please bring a blank

CD and/or USB Stick to your instructor, so the music can be downloaded for practice. It is your responsibility to practice your solo, duet and/or trio. It is your responsibility to have access to your dancer(s) music at festivals, competitions and community events.

Festivals/Competitions:

Go to our festival board in the dance studio waiting area and get festival info and deadlines. Please look online for any other festivals/competitions your dancer(s) may be interested in attending. It is your responsibility to register and pay for your dancer(s) before the deadline of each individual festival/competition.

When registering your child for a festival, please register under “Private Instruction”

**The St. Paul Ukrainian Dance Festival entry fee will be covered by the club, and a copy of your dancer(s) registration should be forwarded to the St. Paul Festival

Coordinator before the deadline.
