2015-2016 Solo, Duo, Trio Application Form
(Due by May 30th)
The purpose of this application is to inform the studio that my daughter is interested in
participating in a Solo, Duo, or Trio for the 2015-2016 school year. If you are interested in
multiple privates/semi-privates, or if you wish to obtain a private lesson for the purpose of
improving technique and not to learn a routine, please indicate so in the “comments” section
below. Applicants will be divided into groups based on ability and who the instructors feel
would best complement each other. Music and dance style will be chosen by the instructor,
however costume choice is up to the dancer and the student, pending studio approval. A
costume must be purchased for a solo/duo/trio costume, either from a catalog, online, or
custom-made, based on the instructor’s approval. Solos are $90/month, and duos are
$65/month and trios are $55/month. The price is based on every 4 half-hour lessons.
Like last year, we will be assigning mostly duo/trios. We’ve found that the students can get just
as much individual attention in a semi-private class and the teachers can be much more
creative with the choreography incorporating partner work, ripples, formation changes, and so
forth making them very entertaining to watch. Plus, we are able to assign you a more
convenient time for your semi-private since we would only be placing 15 semi-privates vs. 30
privates. We will still be assigning solos to the students we feel are able to perform skills
beyond anyone else in their age/level and therefore would not be able to be adequately paired
with another student.
