Hurlburt Spouses Club Charitable Giving Program Mission Statement The HSC Charitable Giving Programs’ mission statement is to support our military community both on and off base through monetary donations. Our Focus Areas 1. Organizations that provide charitable* assistance to communities that include military families – focusing on Hurlburt and Eglin AFB. 2. Emergency funding for families in need of immediate assistance. Donation restrictions 1. Under the IRS regulations we are prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in any political campaign on behalf of, or in opposition to a candidate for public office. Donation Cycle Once the donation application is received, the HSC will respond to your request within 45 days. Please contact Danielle Wolfe immediately if emergency funding is needed. Donation Evaluations As a newly formed 501(c)(3), we are obligated to keep adequate records and case histories to demonstrate that such grants serve its original charitable purpose. If you receive a donation from our program, you will be asked to complete a Grant Evaluation form. This form will help both the HSC and your organization understand how the donation was used once received. All donations must be re-applied for every year. *The term charitable is defined by the IRS for a 501(c)(3) as: used in its generally accepted legal sense and includes relief of the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged: advancement of religion*, advancement of education or science; erecting or maintaining public buildings, monuments, or works; lessening the burdens of government; lessening neighborhood tensions; eliminating prejudice and discrimination; defending human and civil rights secured by law; and combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency.
