STOP THAT SENTENCE! (1.0)
Materials:

Stop signs with punctuation marks
Description:
The whole group will show the punctuation mark that will complete the sentence that is
read by the teacher.
Step-by-Step:
The teacher will read a sentence to the group. Each student will select the appropriate
punctuation mark that would end the sentence and hold that sign up.

Assessment Activity Title: STOP THAT SENTENCE!
Description of Activity:
1. The teacher will read a sentence or write a sentence for the group.
2. Each student will select the appropriate punctuation mark that would end the
sentence and hold that stop sign up.
Assignment Extensions:
Begin with periods, question marks and exclamation marks for Kindergarteners and First
Grade. For Second Graders, add quotation marks.
