Seasonal Gardener
Stuyvesant Cove Park
Solar One/ Stuyvesant Cove Park is looking for a full time, seasonal gardener for our two acre,
organically maintained, all native species park. Work includes gardening tasks such as weeding,
watering, mulching, pruning, etc., as well as supervising and instructing volunteers and interns. Must
have at least three years experience in gardening or landscaping, and have some background with plants
native to the Northeast. Candidates must be comfortable leading groups and working with teenagers,
as well as working independently. This job is full time and seasonal from May to October, with the

Responsibilities:
-Maintaining plantings in a two acre park; gardening tasks include planting, weeding, mulching,
watering, and pruning.
-Supervising a variety of interns and volunteers.
-Some cleaning and maintenance duties.
-Occasional assistance at kids and arts events on site.
Requirements:
-Must have at least three years experience in horticulture, familiarity with organic gardening practices a
plus.
-Must have experience and familiarity with Northeast natives.
-Must have experience supervising or teaching others.
-Must be comfortable working independently in an outdoor, urban setting.
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 9 – 4:30
Salary: $17/hr, 35 hour workweek
