Green Volunteer Scheme
Notes to Applicants
The “Green Volunteer Scheme” (the Scheme) is launched by the Leisure and
Cultural Services Department to encourage members of the public to take
part in greening activities. Participants who are interested in joining the
Scheme may register as “Green Volunteer”. The Scheme will provide
basic horticultural training and practices for the new recruits.
This Department will arrange the following greening voluntary services for
the “Green Volunteer”:







to serve as volunteers in greening activities
to assist in organizing horticultural and greening promotion
activities for local communities and schools
to assist in planting and carrying out simple gardening work
inside parks and gardens
to identify tree planting sites
to undertake simple maintenance works and report damaged
condition for trees planted along roadside and inside parks and
gardens
to label trees planted along roadside and inside parks and gardens
to perform visual inspection to trees (including Old and Valuable
Trees) planted along roadside and inside parks and gardens and
reports any irregularities
Application procedure for “Green Volunteer”
Members of the public who are interested in participating in greening
voluntary services and support “Green Hong Kong Campaign” may
complete and return the application form to this Department to register as
“Green Volunteer”.
Remarks : Children under 12 must be accompanied by parents/guardian
for participating in voluntary services.
