The Lake Forest Legacy Project A record of our past for the future Lake Forest’s Sesquicentennial celebration in 2011 is the perfect time to think about documenting our community history. The founders of our town and those who have helped it grow over the past 150 years left us a wealth of information that teaches us about our past. Now we can take up the mantle and provide a record of ourselves for future generations of Lake Foresters. The Lake Forest Sesquicentennial Historical Activities Committee is collecting historical information about our community to provide a record of our past, focusing especially on the last 50 years. All Lake Forest institutions, organizations, businesses, clubs and groups are invited to participate. The documentation collected will be housed in archival files at the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society, where it will be preserved and made available to the public for research. The information will also be utilized for the Timeline of Lake Forest History, a comprehensive overview of our past which will be available online. How to Participate in the Lake Forest Legacy Project 1.) Fill out the attached Institutional History Documentation Form to the best of your ability. Feel free to ask former board members, directors, proprietors or employees for assistance. Forms need not be fully complete to be submitted – fill out what you can. 2.)
