July 1992-present Self-employed translator
Self-employed translator working for companies and international organizations in the
United States and Europe. Fields of Specialization: Legal documents (primarily
contracts, corporate law, and country legislation), oil and gas, bid specifications,
international development aid, health and medicine (conventional and alternative), film
industry, computer software (including verification of Spanish software to ensure
functionality, internal consistency and correspondence with documentation), insurance,
environmental technology, business.

Established and operated my own translation company for nine years; it was sold in July
1992 to a large New York City translation firm. The business provided foreign language
translation services to private industry, government and individuals located in Colorado
and California.

Developed and was responsible for all internal procedures and operations, client and
subcontractor interface, scheduling, project management, and quality control. When time
permitted, I also translated Spanish and French texts into English.
June-August 1978 Translator, Partido Revolucionario Internacional (PRI)
Office of Foreign Affairs, Mexico City. Provided Spanish-English translations of
government documents for major political party in Mexico, during the summer between
the two years of graduate school.
