The NGO Forum at the 3rd United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries Press release New parent body to host organization of NGO activities at UN Conference (Bruxelles, 23rd February 2001) - When the NGO Forum seemed in danger of collapse because of the difficulties facing its parent body - the Liaison Committee for development the NGOs at the EU - a group of Brussels-based NGOs - Eurostep, NCOS, CIDSE and Solidar - stepped in to ensure its continuation and created a new organisazion called LDC III NGO Forum. The new association is going to replace the Liaison Committee as host of the Brussels-based NGO Forum, the organization set up to encourage and coordinate NGO activities (10-20 May 2001) at the III United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries in Brussels. The NGO Forum will continue to be guided by its eight-person International Steering Committee, (five members of which come from Least Developed Countries) as well as by its regional committees.
