AIMS:
1) To train pediatricians in helping parents to understand importance of second hand tobacco smoke and
using the AAP module to assess and help parents to QUIT
2) To develop a CD create a awareness module of impact of tobacco on chilDr.en and teens for schools
and colleges .This will have sessions for one hour , two hour and three hour modules for workshops
3) To develop a CD create awareness module for parents and other adults in the community This will
have sessions for one hour , two hour and three hour modules for workshops.

Development of material: core committee Dr. T. U. Sukumaran , Dr. S. S. Kamath and Dr. Swati Y.
Bhave
Research and multicentre data Creation of some questionnaires for assessment of impact of tobacco in
schools colleges and community
Circulation of material for suggestions to a expert group on tobacco (names to be decided)
Approval of the material by the zonal co-coordinators by organizing a one or two day workshop
Creation of the CDS for distribution to all the IAP branches and the Heads of Departments
Letters sent to all above with the President’s signature with the CD instructions and plan of action of
how to conduct the modules in schools, colleges and community.
Conduction of some workshops by the task force as model workshops
