Aim & Objectives
Performance appraisal and management is the essence of individual and organizational
growth. Likewise management of compensation is one of the most important and strategic
aspect of human resource management. However, performance management and
compensation management are interlinked. The module aims at providing an integrated
approach to performance and compensation management.
On completion of this module the student will be able






To orient the students with the concepts related to performance appraisal.
To facilitate learning related to performance management for employees.
To Help students understand the importance of performance in organizations
To Design and implement employee performance management system
To Provide an insight into the concept of reward and recognition in work organizations
To Provide insight into various compensation policies and practices
Teaching/Learning Approach
Students will learn through a combination of face-to-face contact and guided study. Personal
contact sessions will include Presentations, case studies, self evaluation exercises, classroom
discussion and management games. Guided study will include text readings and articles on
contemporary issues in organization. Additional material will also be emailed by presenters.

Guided study will include text readings, articles on contemporary issues in organization,
assignments, case analysis and power point presentations.
Assessment
Assessment of the student will be based on mid-term and end term examination and
continuous assessment subject to class participation, assignments and presentations.
