First, a few inspirational quotes…again! 
“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we
have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are
what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”
Aristotle
Strive for excellence!!!
Mr.Babichenko
Brief Introduction (What are the main goals of this project?):
Ancient Greece is considered to be “the cradle of Western Civilization” because it set lasting
standards in art, architecture, politics, literature, philosophy, science, entertainment,
and sports that are still very influential today. So, with this in mind, your two main goals
are:
Part 1: Create a graphic organizer that includes explanations and visuals representing
ideas from Ancient Greece and their practical applications in the modern world. ( draw
parallels)
Part 2: Write a five paragraph essay in which you answer the following topic:
Identify and explain the three most influential legacies of Greece and their
application in the modern world?
Now the Details:


You have a choice to either work by yourself or work in a group (no more than three
people per group).
The essay for this project counts as two separate grades: (1) It is a part of the overall
project grade and (2) It counts as a separate writing grade.
If you are working as a group, you may work on the essay together.
The first part of this project could be produced on a/ as a:
(a) Poster; (b) Photo Story; (c) Web-site; (d) PowerPoint; (e) Brochure/Pamphlet
Your choices from Ancient Greece could include single events (example: Battle of
Marathon) or concepts/ideas (example: Democracy/Juries) – see graphic organizer on
p.3 for more information on the format.
You should have the total of (minimum) 4 ideas/events from Ancient Greece and
their practical applications today.
