Mr.Babichenko Brief Introduction (What are the main goals of this project?): Ancient Greece is considered to be “the cradle of Western Civilization” because it set lasting standards in art, architecture, politics, literature, philosophy, science, entertainment, and sports that are still very influential today. So, with this in mind, your two main goals are: Part 1: Create a graphic organizer that includes explanations and visuals representing ideas from Ancient Greece and their practical applications in the modern world. ( draw parallels) Part 2: Write a five paragraph essay in which you answer the following topic: Identify and explain the three most influential legacies of Greece and their application in the modern world? Now the Details: You have a choice to either work by yourself or work in a group (no more than three people per group). The essay for this project counts as two separate grades: (1) It is a part of the overall project grade and (2) It counts as a separate writing grade. If you are working as a group, you may work on the essay together. The first part of this project could be produced on a/ as a: (a) Poster; (b) Photo Story; (c) Web-site; (d) PowerPoint; (e) Brochure/Pamphlet Your choices from Ancient Greece could include single events (example: Battle of Marathon) or concepts/ideas (example: Democracy/Juries) – see graphic organizer on p.3 for more information on the format.
