Topics include the use of historical business data for quantitative analysis, data mining, predictive modeling, data warehousing, reporting, and decision making techniques, encompassing functional areas like marketing and finance. The proposed changes will bring the FCB CIS curriculum into closer alignment with the CIS offerings at other major universities, and the needs of businesses looking to hire FCB CIS students. The primary emphasis of the proposed changes will move CIS 440 away from a technical focus and towards a MIS focus intended to support the data analysis and information strategy needs of current businesses. It is anticipated that this proposed course will be of interest to Marketing, Finance and Management students.
