Canadian Status: Raw Thyroid is a supplement marketed by Ultra Entreprises and sold as a natural product. The product is claimed to contain the following ingredients: Raw Thyroid Tissue Microcrystalline cellulose Croscarmellose sodium Magnesium stearate Raw thyroid tissue Raw thyroid tissue is claimed to be used as an alternative to synthetic thyroid hormone replacement medication and is not structurally similar to any of the substances listed in the CDSA. Microcrystalline cellulose The substance is purified and partially depolymerized cellulose1 and is commonly used in food preparations as a preservative and stabilizer2. Microcrystalline cellulose is not structurally similar to any of those listed in the CDSA. Croscarmellose sodium Carboxymethyl cellulose The substance crosslinked carboxymethyl cellulose and is an emulsifying agent commonly used in foods3 and is not structurally similar to any of those listed in the CDSA. Magnesium stearate was previously reviewed and is not controlled under the CDSA. Raw Thyroid is claimed to contain raw thyroid tissue, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate. None of these substances are structurally similar to those listed in the CDSA and therefore Raw Thyroid is not considered to be controlled product.
