Lincoln University
Institutional Scholarships are available to students completing 30 or more hours of college work, with a minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.0. Available to current LU students or students transferring to LU from other
colleges/universities. The scholarship covers 70% of tuition up to 15 credit hours a semester, incidental fees, $800 per
year that can be used towards book and educational supplies, and $1500 per year towards on-campus
room/board. Renewable if the student maintains a 3.0 cum GPA and completes 24 credit hours each academic year.
Availability of this institutional scholarship is contingent upon funding allocation.
To apply: If you a transfer student, you must complete an Admissions Application by February 1 for the next academic
year. If you are a current student, no application is required.
Dean's Scholarships are available to students who graduated from an accredited high school and who have completed
at least 60 hours at Lincoln University. The student must have ranked in the top 30% of their high school graduating
class, achieved an ACT composite score of 20 or higher, or earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (both high school
and college level). The scholarship covers approximately 50% of the cost of tuition up to 15 credit hours and incidental
fees, $1000 per year toward the cost of on-campus room/board, and $500 per year that can be used towards book and
educational supplies. This scholarship is non-renewable. Availability of this institutional scholarship is contingent upon
funding allocation.
To apply: No application is required; data will be compiled to select the highest qualified student(s).

Art, Band, and Music Scholarships of various amounts may be available based on academic performance and financial
need.

Women's Athletic Scholarships - Basketball, Tennis, Track, Softball,
Men's Athletic Scholarships -Basketball, Track, Baseball, Golf and Football are all based on need, performance, and
athletic ability. Full or partial awards are based on athletic ability and may be supplemented by other types of financial
aid but cannot exceed the cost of attendance.

ROTC Scholarships are based upon ACT/SAT scores, high school qualifications, and leadership potential. This scholarship
provides full tuition, funds that can be used towards book and educational supplies, plus subsistence allowance of $100
per month for up to 10 months per year. Upon graduation student receives commission in US Army as a second
lieutenant.

ROTC Curators Scholarships are four, three, and two year scholarships awarded to students that are Missouri residents.
These scholarships cover the cost of tuition, books, lab fees, and provide a subsistence allowance of $150 per month up
to 10 months per year.

ROTC Performance Scholarship is available to the recipient of an ROTC scholarship, covers the cost of room/board (oncampus residence halls only) and is renewable if the student maintains a 2.5 cum. GPA and maintains the ROTC
scholarship.

Foundation Scholarships
Sonny Lefholz Music Scholarship Endowment Fund
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
• Must be a music major with jazz emphasis
• Must be a full-time Lincoln University student
• Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA in music courses
• Must be enrolled in jazz band
• Must have completed FAFSA
• Scholarship Amount: Varies
The Ronald M. Powell Memorial Scholarship Fund
• Preference given to students from:
(1) Joplin, MO – the hometown of Ronald Powell
(2)Washington D.C. metropolitan area
(3) San Francisco/Oakland Bay area • Must have a H.S. or University cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
• Students must major in a field of science, mathematics, engineering, technology, business, accounting, journalism,
education, sociology, English, or other viable fields. Preference given to students majoring in journalism or English.
• Must be a full-time Lincoln University student
• Students must prove financial need
• Must be a residential student
• Scholarship Amount: Varies
• Other Information: Scholarships are renewable to recipient for up to four consecutive years or graduation, whichever
occurs first, provided recipient continues to meet the criteria above.
Smith Family Funds Scholarship
• Be African American
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Majoring in English, history, elementary education or special education
• Enrolled full time
• Open to students entering their senior year of college
• Scholarship Amount: Varies
The Charles Franklin Martin Washington DC Alumni Chapter Scholarship
• Must be a legal resident of Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia
• Have a H.S. or University cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
• Must be a full-time Lincoln University student
• Must demonstrate financial need
• Scholarship Amount: At least one scholarship of $1,500 each year
Joseph and Julie Johnson Aspiring Educators Scholarship
• Be African-American
• Hometown of Southeast Missouri or Jefferson City, Missouri
• Have a cumulative GPA of a 2.3 or higher
• Major in teacher education (admitted into the teacher education program)
• Complete a minimum of 15 hours of coursework
• Open to undergraduates and graduates; preference given to freshmen or sophomores
• Reside in campus housing
• Demonstrate commitment, collaborative spirit and positive attitude through their behavior as shown in their course
work, community involvement, campus involvement and employment

The Lincoln University Penn and Fuller Scholarship Award
• Cumulative GPA must be a minimum of 2.8 with a min GPA in music of 3.0
• Must be a music major with junior or senior level status
• Must be in good standing at Lincoln University, Missouri
• Must be an exceptional music student and promising teacher/performer as determined by the music department
• Must exhibit leadership qualities, be dedicated to music as an art and demonstrate a high degree of enthusiasm
• Recipient must write a thank you letter to be provided to donor
• Scholarship Amount: $1,000 annually, unless otherwise specified by the donor, for each of the following awards:
(1) The Professor Marshall Penn Excellence Award for an Instrumentalist
(2) The Dr. O. Anderson Fuller Excellence Award for a Vocalist or Pianist
Cletus Stamper Memorial Scholarship Fund
• Have a 3.5 GPA
• Must be a full-time student
• Must be at least a junior
• Active in a department of business and economics student organization

62nd and 65th Founding Soldiers Scholarship
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Enrolled full time (12 hours)
• Enrolled in Army ROTC
• Must respond to award with a thank you letter
• Other information: The scholarship is renewable. The scholarship will not be renewed if the student obtains an ROTC
scholarship.
